Well, the kids are older, we have 2 new dogs and things are about the same.
We are covered in a fresh new coat of "frosting" outside as Em likes to call it. Z is thrilled that he can go sledding with Uncle J. I am too - I don't have to take him! Mom and the cold just don't mix well.
Tanner only goes out when he has to, but Sam (the little one) likes to bark at every snowflake that falls - and for hours if we let him! We tried to put doggie boots on him - that didn't go so well! I returned them! We recently hurried to get the new puppy "fixed" due to the children asking why he humps things! Daddy explained to him that that is kissing for dogs! Great explanation Dad!! They looked at him like "What??" I did the same!
Em wants to be homeschooled cause "I miss you too much mommy!" and according to her "you don't even have to be a teacher to do it!" Well, you do have to be dedicated and have a ton of patience - and a desire to have your youngest home all day with you. Yeah - it's NOT gonna happen!!
I can't seem to keep us with the mounds of laundry that ruin my days. I guess that is better than a full-time job out of the house. I just wish the Laundry Gods would pay me per load!
More soon - I promise I won't take a year break!

Snow up to our Eyeballs!
We have So Much snow here - I feel pretty soon we'll be trapped in like an igloo! The kids are having a blast in it. We had snow slushies last Friday after the 9 inches that fell. It was a snow day too! Pretty impressive to get a snow day in the Midwest. The kids each took a hunk of clean snow and I put on a few drops of slushy syrup flavoring. They ate it and thought it was the coolest thing to have slushies in the winter with the snow that fell!
This just in: 8-12 more inches are due to fall tonight and tomorrow. Looks like I'll be entertaining the children again on Wednesday - snow day I'm sure! This is nuts! Our weather man said that we are on track for 60+ inches of snow this winter and we usually only get 38 inches. Isn't that nice.

Crazy Eight!
So, I'm trying to be a good mom and help Emily with writing her numbers. She has her Kindergarten workbook out and asks me for help. We sit down and do page after page. We get to the numbers page, where she has to trace the numbers 1-10. She does rather well with this until we get to number eight! I explain to her the way to do it, start at the top, make an "s" and go back up to the top again. She says "Woha, I'm sure glad the pencil has to go on that ride and not me!"
I tell you, I'm not that creative with words, she must get it from her daddy.

Welcome 2008!
We had a laid back evening with good friends. Shared dinner and drinks and good laughs. We celebrated New York's New Year with the kids and then headed home. Emily had a blast throwing the confetti she has been cutting for weeks. Nonnie and I helped her the night before to give her a little extra. She brought it with and shared it with all her friends. Here she is with her "New Pose" that she does on every photo now. She saw a photo of Abbygirl with her head tilted and loved it. She said "I'm going to turn my head like that Mom, it's cute." So we have the "head tilt".
New Year Snow Bliss
Since about 9am on New Years Eve till this morning it has snowed straight through. We picked up about 4 inches over the course of a few days and the kids are thrilled. Zack especially because of his new snow board his Auntie gave him. He got to try it out a few days ago on the big hill in town, but the snow was good packing snow and it wasn't working well with the board. The snow yesterday was perfect on the "Nothead Hill"! He loved it.
